  1. Improved

A new look and a new interface font

The website and the editor got a design pass.

    • A new interface font, Ravi, in the editor and on the website, for Persian and English alike. Latin digits stay Latin, so sizes like 9:16 and times read the way you type them.
    • A new menu on the website: features grouped by what they do, use cases, guides and company pages, each with a one-line summary.
    • Cleaner pages: features, use cases, the blog, help center, changelog, pricing and company pages share one layout and read more easily on phones.
  2. New

Our new website, in English and Persian

capshak has a new home. The website explains what the editor can do, shows how pricing works, and answers common questions, in both English and Persian.

    • New website in English and Persian, with pages for each feature and use case.
    • Pricing page with a calculator: enter how many minutes of video you make a month, the translation languages and proofreading, and see how many credits you need and which package fits best. Current packages are always listed on pricing.
    • Help center with step-by-step guides for getting started, captions, editing, export, billing and your account. See help.
    • Live caption style gallery: every card is drawn by the real capshak renderer. Pick a style and your first project starts with it. See styles.
  3. Improved

A new Persian interface font: AzarMehr

capshak’s interface now uses AzarMehr, a clean, modern Persian typeface. Menus, panels and buttons read more comfortably, especially at the small sizes used across the editor.

    • The whole app interface uses AzarMehr, from light to black weights.
    • Persian digits in the interface match the new font.
    • Easier reading at small sizes in the editor’s panels and timeline.
    • AzarMehr is also one of the fonts you can pick for your captions.
    • Nothing changes in your projects: captions and texts keep the fonts you chose.
  4. ImprovedNew

AI editor can now see your video, use keyframes and keep your chats

The AI editor got much more capable. It can look at frames of your video to check its own work, it knows more editing moves, and your conversations are saved with the project.

    • Looks at frames: it can take a small snapshot of the preview to see what is on screen, and shows you the thumbnail.
    • Keyframes: it can animate texts and layers with keyframes.
    • New moves: punch-in zooms on key moments, cuts synced to the music’s beats, and automatic B-roll.
    • Saved chats: each project keeps its chats, and the latest one opens with the project.
    • Richer panel: steps you can expand, times like 0:12 you can click to jump to, suggestion chips based on your edit, and a pill to point it at your selection or the playhead.
  5. New

    Keyframes for layers and texts

Animate exactly the way you want. Overlays and texts can now change position, size, rotation and opacity over time, easing smoothly from one keyframe to the next.

    • A ◆ button next to each property adds a keyframe at the playhead.
    • Once a property has keyframes, moving a slider or dragging in the viewer sets a new keyframe instead of changing the whole item.
    • Jump between keyframes from the panel.
    • Timeline blocks show keyframes as small diamonds.
    • Splitting an item keeps its motion going in both halves.
    • Texts can now also be rotated and faded.
    • The preview and the export move exactly the same.
  6. New

Multi-select, copy and paste, and paste style

Work on many items at once. Select a group of texts, layers, effects or audio clips and move, delete or duplicate them together, then copy them anywhere in your edit.

    • Multi-select: Shift-click or ⌘/Ctrl-click, or Shift-drag on empty timeline space to draw a selection box. ⌘/Ctrl+A selects all items of a kind.
    • Delete, duplicate, nudge and drag act on the whole group, as one undo step.
    • Right-click a selected group for its own menu.
    • Copy, cut and paste (⌘/Ctrl+C, X, V) texts, layers, effects and audio clips at the playhead, with their spacing kept.
    • Copy and paste style (⌥⌘C / ⌥⌘V): copy one item’s look onto another. Clips copy their effects and animation.
  7. New

Text-based editing: cut the video by deleting words

Edit your video like a document. Open Captions, then Transcript, and your words appear as flowing text. Select a few words and press Delete, and that part of the video is gone.

    • Click any word to jump to that moment.
    • Select words by dragging or Shift-clicking (on a phone, tap a second word), then Delete or Cut.
    • Cut words stay visible, struck through, and you can restore them anytime.
    • Long pauses show as small pills. Click one to cut it.
    • Filler words like “um” are underlined, and you can cut them all at once.
    • Cut words disappear from the captions in the preview and the export.
  8. New

    Clip speed and freeze frame

Speed up the slow parts, slow down the best moment, or hold a frame for effect. Speed and freeze work everywhere: in the preview, on the timeline, in the export and with the AI editor.

    • Clip speed from 0.25× to 4×, with a slider and quick presets in the Edit panel. Voices keep their pitch in the preview.
    • Freeze frame: hold one frame for as long as you like. Press F to freeze at the playhead.
    • The timeline shows each clip at its new length, and captions stay in sync.
    • The exported MP4 matches what you saw.
  9. Improved

A mobile editor built for touch

Editing on a phone now feels natural. Tools open in a dock where the timeline sits, so the preview stays visible and live while you work, and the timeline understands your fingers.

    • Tool dock: opens in place of the timeline, with undo, redo and a mini seek bar. Swipe down to close.
    • Touch timeline: one finger scrolls, a tap selects, and a selected block can be dragged or trimmed with wider handles. Drag the ruler to scrub, pinch to zoom, long-press for the menu.
    • Light vibration feedback on select, drag, snap, split and delete, where your phone supports it.
    • Works around notches and rounded corners, and the on-screen keyboard never covers the panel.
    • No more surprise zoom when you tap a text field on iPhone.
    • Landscape layout and a full-screen preview on phones.
  10. Improved

A smoother desktop editor: shortcuts, top bar, export and viewer zoom

A round of polish for editing on a computer. Keyboard shortcuts are easier to learn, the top bar tells you more, and the export dialog shows what you will get before you start.

    • Shortcuts dialog: press ? to see every shortcut. Shortcuts also work on a Persian keyboard layout.
    • New keys: 1–9 to switch tools, + and − to zoom the timeline, [ to hide the side panel, Alt + arrow keys to nudge items, and step frame by frame.
    • Top bar with undo and redo, a real “Saving…” state and a Retry button.
    • Redesigned export dialog: 4K when your source allows it, a frame-rate cap, a file size estimate and time left.
    • Viewer zoom (Fit, 150%, 200%, 300%) and a rule-of-thirds grid.
    • The side panel can collapse for more room.
  11. New

AI editor: tell it what you want, it edits the video

Meet the AI editor, a chat inside the editor that makes real changes to your project. Ask for something in plain words, in Persian or English, and it works through the steps using the same tools you have.

    • Ask it to cut pauses, fix or restyle captions, add texts, effects, stickers or music, and more.
    • You see each step it takes as it works.
    • Every request is one undo step. When it is done, choose “Keep” or “Undo all”.
    • It reads the current state of your project, so it knows which clips, captions and texts are there.
    • It is charged by usage, and you need at least 1 credit to start. See pricing.
  12. New

Stickers, GIFs and pictures, with a built-in asset library

The new Assets tool puts stickers, GIFs, pictures, sound effects and music one tap away. Start with our own library, search online collections when they are enabled, or add your own files.

    • Bundled library of stickers (including animated and Persian-lettered ones), sound effects and music loops that we made ourselves.
    • Search GIPHY for GIFs and stickers, Freesound for CC0 sound effects and Jamendo for Creative Commons music, when enabled.
    • Add your own pictures: PNG, JPEG, WebP and animated GIF. Pick a file or drop it on the editor.
    • Pictures and stickers behave like overlays: move, resize, rotate, animate and keep transparency.
    • The Assets panel stays open while you add several items in a row.
  13. New

Audio tracks: music, sound effects, voice-over and auto ducking

Your videos can now have a full soundtrack. Add background music, sound effects and voice-over on their own tracks, and capshak lowers the music automatically whenever someone speaks.

    • Up to 6 audio tracks for music, sound effects and voice.
    • Record a voice-over right in the browser, starting from the playhead, while the preview plays silently.
    • Volume, fade in and fade out for every audio clip.
    • Automatic ducking: music drops under speech and comes back smoothly. You choose how much.
    • Beat markers on music clips, and items snap to the beats.
    • Overlay videos can keep their own sound, with a volume control.
    • The exported MP4 has the same mix you hear in the preview.
  14. New

Video effects: 27 effects for the whole picture, a clip or a layer

Add style with one click. A new Effects track on the timeline applies an effect to the whole picture for as long as you want, and you can also give a single clip or overlay its own effects.

    • 27 effects in 5 groups: camera moves (shake, zoom pulse, Ken Burns), light (light leaks, flash, glow), retro (glitch, VHS, old film), blur, pixelate and kaleidoscope, plus color looks like invert, duotone and cinema bars.
    • Each effect has an amount and a speed.
    • Effects track: place effects in time; overlapping effects stack on separate lanes.
    • Clip and overlay effects: up to 4 per item. They follow the clip when you split it.
    • Effect cards preview your own current frame, so you see the result before you pick.
  15. New

In, out and loop animations for clips, layers and texts

Give anything on your timeline some motion. Clips, overlays and text overlays can each have an entrance, an exit and a looping movement, all picked from the same simple editor in their panel.

    • 16 show and hide animations: fades, slides, zooms, pop, bounce, flip, spin, blur, wipe, stretch, typewriter and cascade. The exit mirrors the entrance.
    • Loops that keep going while the item is on screen: pulse, heartbeat, float, wobble, swing, shake, spin, flicker and slow zoom, with an adjustable speed.
    • Set the length of each entrance and exit, or keep the default.
    • The timeline shades the in and out ramps on each block and marks loops with ∞.
  16. New

    Picture-in-picture overlays and animated captions

You can now stack videos on top of your main video. Use overlay tracks for picture-in-picture, split screens or B-roll, and place each layer exactly where you want it on the canvas. Captions also learned to move: each caption page can animate in and out.

    • Overlay tracks (up to 8) for picture-in-picture, split screen and B-roll.
    • Move, resize, rotate and crop each layer, with rounded corners and a border.
    • Chroma key to remove a green-screen background from an overlay.
    • A color filter per overlay, matching the look of your main video.
    • Caption show and hide animations such as fade, slide, zoom and pop, with an adjustable duration.
    • The preview and the exported MP4 look the same.
  17. New

Sharper Persian captions, AI proofreading, new styles and your own fonts

Captions got a big upgrade. A new speech-to-text engine gives noticeably better Persian transcripts, with timing for every word. AI proofreading can then clean up the text without changing what was said. On top of that, there are new caption styles, transitions between clips, and you can bring your own fonts.

    • New speech-to-text engine with stronger Persian recognition.
    • AI proofreading fixes misheard words and names, spelling, Persian half-spaces and punctuation, and keeps the spoken wording. Add a hint with names or terms to help it.
    • New caption styles, including ones made for Persian.
    • 9 transitions between clips: fade, dip to black or white, slide, slide up, wipe, zoom, circle and blur.
    • My fonts: upload a font you own (TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2). It stays on your device.
