capshak is a video editor that runs in your browser. You upload a short video (up to 10 minutes), add captions, cut and style it, and export an MP4. There is nothing to install, and the heavy work happens on your own device.
1. Create your account
- Open Sign up.
- Enter your Mobile number, then click Send code.
- Type the Verification code we text you. Your first sign-in creates your account.
- Enter your name and continue.
Editing and exporting are free. To make captions and use the other AI features, pick a plan on the pricing page.
2. Start a project
- On the Projects page, click New project.
- Drop a video in the box, or click to choose a file. MP4, MOV and WebM work.
- Give it a Title and pick the Spoken language, or leave Detect automatically.
- Click Create project. The editor opens.
3. Generate captions
- Open the Captions tool.
- Click Generate captions.
- Optional: turn on Fix typos & punctuation with AI to proofread the result.
Only a small audio file is sent for transcription. After a short wait, word-timed captions appear on the video and on the timeline. See Make captions for details.
4. Edit and style
- Pick a look in the Style tab of the Captions tool. See Style your captions.
- Cut the video in the Edit tool, or delete words in the transcript. See Timeline basics and Text-based editing.
- Use Canvas to reframe for 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9, and Color for filters.
Every change saves automatically. The top bar shows All changes saved when the project is up to date.
5. Export
- Click Export video.
- Choose the resolution, frame rate and quality.
- Click Export MP4 and keep the tab open until it finishes.
- Click Download.
Exporting is free and has no watermark. See Export your video.
